Is family a nest or a prison ?

Family relationships are absurd. Selfless love and guilt, devotion and resentment, belonging and bitterness go hand in hand. It is this vast range of flavours and emotions in family relationships that we explore with ties. In each show, we meet a different family inspired by the audience’s suggestions. As the evening progresses, each family member takes the spotlight for at least one scene. Incidents from the past and the future, dreams and paths not taken introduce us to their different worlds, like a composition of framed photos on top of grandma’s chiffonier. Is this family a nest or a prison ?
